WRONGFUL DEATH
Georgia Law allows the family members of an individual who died as a result of another person or entity’s negligence or misconduct to recover from the wrongful or negligent act. Although there may be a criminal prosecution related to the fatality, a wrongful death lawsuit is a civil action that is separate and distinct from any criminal charges. More often than not, a lawsuit is the only course of action to bring relief to the families of victims in these circumstances.
